We consider it important to make the Sounds of Nikud website accessible to a wide range of users, and we work to improve the experience on an ongoing basis.
Our aim is to align the site as far as possible with the principles of Israeli Standard 5568 and the WCAG guidelines at level AA, according to the nature of the site and technological limitations. This statement is not a claim of external certification.
This English version is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Hebrew version, the Hebrew version prevails.
1. Adjustments made on the site
- a heading structure and semantic regions for reading and navigation;
- keyboard operation and a clear focus indicator;
- accessible labels for controls, games, and the contact forms;
- a responsive layout for wide and narrow screens, with support for right-to-left and left-to-right text;
- reduced animation when the operating system requests it;
- an accessibility toolbar that provides additional display adjustments.
2. Audio and learning content
Audio is a central part of pronunciation practice. The letter or exercise is also shown visually, but in some speech-synthesis activities the quality of the pronunciation and voice depends on the browser and the operating system.
If you find an item that cannot be understood without audio, an incorrect sound, or another barrier, we would be glad to receive an exact description of the page, the device, and the browser.
3. Testing and known limitations
The site is tested automatically in different browsers and screen sizes, but automated testing does not detect every accessibility issue.
Support for Hebrew speech may differ between devices, and third-party components such as the Turnstile security challenge may have accessibility limitations. We continue to review and fix issues reported to us.

If you run into a difficulty, please tell us what you were trying to do, the page address, and the type of device and browser. There is no need to include medical or other sensitive personal information.
We make an effort to reply within a reasonable time and to provide an accessible alternative where possible.
